Manchester United have been told that one departing star is an “incredible player” even though he doesn’t fit into Ruben Amorim’s system.
After a dismal campaign last season, Manchester United are aiming to reset during the summer transfer window.
Matheus Cunha has already arrived, and plans are in motion to add Bryan Mbeumo to Ruben Amorim’s revamped attacking unit.
However, any further reinforcements—whether in attack, midfield, or at wingback—will hinge on player sales. Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho are all reportedly available for transfer.
Rashford spent part of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he caught the eye with a series of standout displays, earning praise for some of his performances.
United set to lose “incredible” Rashford
United icon Lee Sharpe has made his feelings clear on Rashford, whose departure this summer seems inevitable after seeming to fall out with Amorim last term.
The ex-winger believes that Rashford is an “incredible player” and questions why he has not been able to find his best form at Old Trafford in the last couple of years.
He believes it will be “a shame” if the Academy graduate leaves but also admits that it doesn’t seem like he fits into the system the Portuguese boss uses.
“Marcus Rashford on his day is unplayable. He’s got unbelievable feet and unbelievable pace. He can finish too, but we’ve not seen that version of Marcus Rashford for the last few seasons. Only he’ll be able to tell you why,” he told Aceodds.com.
“His performances for England and United have been world-beating. He’s got pace, balance and power. His footwork too. He’s an incredible player. I don’t know whether he’s got things going on in his head or if it’s a confidence issue? Issues with the club or a particular manager?
“It would be a shame if the club lost him, but also I’m not sure if he fits into Amorim’s system. He’s not a number nine and I don’t know if he’s a number ten either. The relationship with Amorim might be too far gone now.”
Rashford only likely to leave on loan
Despite the desire to sell Rashford this summer, it has been suggested that United have acknowledged that it is more likely for him to depart on another loan instead.
The club believe that there is now only a ‘low possibility’ that someone pays their desired £40 million price tag for the player.

Rashford’s preference is clearly to move to Barcelona but they are not willing to sign him permanently. Despite the Spanish club moving for Nico Williams, the United player still believes a loan is on the cards.
The United star is desperate to play for England in the World Cup next year though, so his approach seems like a risky one especially when you consider Barcelona are not desperate to sign him.
