Manchester United and Erik ten Hag told to pursue two wildcard striker options
Manchester United must provide Erik ten Hag with a striker signing this summer and there are several options on the list at the moment.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was the number one target for Ten Hag at the start of the window, however, Daniel Levy seems to be blocking any move within the Premier League for the club’s top goalscorer.
This has brought United to the talented Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, who despite being raw, could be a good signing for The Reds.

Yet, there also seems to be difficulties in regard to the fee for the 20-year-old, which is reportedly around £70-80 million, and that leaves Ten Hag’s side in a difficult situation.
Last term, the Dutch manager had to deal with a lack of options up front. Anthony Martial’s injuries cursed his season whilst Wout Weghorst was a stop-gap loan player who was clearly not United level.
Former United forward Louis Saha, who won two Premier League titles with the club, believes that the club should remain monitoring Harry Kane’s situation until he either moves elsewhere or remains at Spurs as there are limited options to pursue.
“I want a player that can make an instant impact and Harry Kane has always been my first choice, and he still is until he joins another club, but it looks as if he will be moving to Germany with Bayern Munich this summer,” he told BetFred. “It also looks as if Victor Osimhen has committed his future to Napoli, so it’s difficult because there’s not many top, top strikers out there who look like they’re going to be available this summer.”
Hojlund has been linked, as well as Eintracht Frankfurt’s marksman Randal Kolo Muani. Whilst both players are also good options for The Reds, Saha has suggested Lautaro Martínez and Dušan Vlahović as well.
“I do really like the style of Rasmus because he’s very committed, he can hold the line as a number nine and he’s got a great left foot.
“On the other hand, Randal is a very active player, he’s skilful and very intelligent. They’re both top, top players, but another player they could consider is Lautaro Martínez of Inter Milan. He has something to offer the Premier League, that’s for sure. Dušan Vlahović of Juventus could be another potential option, but he’s more of a traditional striker. We just have to see what happens with Harry Kane’s future,” he added.

Vlahovic scored 10 Serie A goals in 22 starts last term, while Martinez bagged an impressive 21 goals in 27 starts for Inter in the league.
