Manchester United academy star addresses recent Ruben Amorim snub with powerful 13-word message

One Manchester United academy star has addressed his recent snub from Ruben Amorim’s first-team with a powerful message.
Manchester United have been struggling this season, especially with injuries, which has led to Ruben Amorim promoting several Academy players to the first-team squad.
In recent weeks, there have been an abundance of unknown entities on Amorim’s bench, with Chido Obi being the only one so far to get his chance.
Sekou Kone was among those to be included on the bench against Tottenham Hotspur and Everton – both games where Obi made appearances.
The summer signing would have hoped to get some more opportunities in the squad and even dreaming of a potential debut.
However, since that point there have been several other Academy talents preferred to Kone on the bench. The likes of Jack Fletcher and Jack Moorhouse have remained in the picture.
Many fans were excited when the club signed Kone from Malian side Guidars FC for £1 million in the summer but it seems like he might not be deemed ready just yet.
Kone addresses Amorim snub with powerful message
The most important thing for Kone right now is getting time on the pitch and he was able to complete 90 minutes on Friday night.
In a dominant 5-1 win over West Brom U21s, United’s youth side showcased their abilities and Kone was among those to impress on the evening.
The defensive midfielder was involved in the buildup to multiple goals and took to Instagram after the game.
It appears that the 19-year-old addressed his recent first-team snub with the perfect 13-word message. “It doesn’t matter if I move slowly so I will always improve inshallah,” he wrote.
This follows on from previous comments of the midfielder, where he said that he was “not worried” that he isn’t being fast-tracked to the senior team after joining in the summer, and is willing to wait patiently for his chance.
Kone set for pre-season opportunity under Amorim
Prior reports have stated that Kone is likely to be given an opportunity to impress Amorim during pre-season, indicating that he could be part of the club’s summer tour squad.
Additionally, the report mentions that Manchester United’s staff see Kone as a promising fit for the Portuguese manager’s new system. However, they emphasise that there has been no urgency to accelerate the teenager’s development.
United are set to see Christian Eriksen depart the club once the season is over and Casemiro could also leave if an appropriate offer comes in for him.
That means that United would need improved depth in the engine room and promoting someone like Kone would certainly help solve that issue.
The young midfielder’s qualities on the ball are not really in question, he just needs to play consistently and prove his physicality in the youth teams before an eventual promotion.
