Manager slams reporter after Marcus Rashford question despite meetings with Manchester United star
Rumours are heating up surrounding the future of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, with several European clubs interested in his services.
Marcus Rashford is expected to depart Manchester United in 2025 following a candid interview recently in which the 27-year-old expressed his desire to pursue a new challenge.
Once the standout figure in United’s attack, Rashford enjoyed a career-best 30-goal season under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23 but has struggled to rediscover that form since.
Under Ruben Amorim, Rashford has fallen out of favour, with his last appearance coming towards the beginning of December against Viktoria Plzen.
With the January transfer window now open, various clubs have been linked with taking the English winger away from Old Trafford.
Milan boss questioned on Rashford interest
AC Milan manager Sergio Conceicao conducted his pre-match press conference on Friday, where he was asked out of the blue whether Rashford would improve his team after reports emerged of their interest.
The Portuguese boss seemed far from pleased with the attempts to get him to speak about the United player.
“You try in every way,” Conceicao responded, in reference to questions about transfer rumours.
“In Portugal, it’s even worse. Here we talk about football, then every now and then someone tries this.
“Rashford is a good player like many others, some are on the market, others are not, let’s see what happens.”
While Conceicao was definitely not keen to speak about his team’s interest in Rashford, he made sure to not rule anything out.
Rashford’s agents meet with Milan
Various reports, including from Fabrizio Romano, have explained that face-to-face meetings took place between AC Milan chiefs and Rashford’s representatives earlier this week.
Despite those discussions, there has not yet been a formal proposal from the Italian club, who are likely weighing up the positives and negatives of a deal.
United are reportedly open to Rashford’s departure, even on loan, but would want a club to cover a significant portion of his wages of over £300,000-per-week.

It remains to be seen which teams would be open to such a deal, with developments likely to be made in the coming days.
