Manchester United’s X account has brilliantly trolled Manchester City following their 2-1 Premier League win thanks to Amad Diallo’s heroics.

Manchester United secured a much-needed three points after Amad Diallo‘s heroics helped them defeat Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

After the home side found themselves a goal up thanks to a first-half header from Joško Gvardiol, United fought their way back in a brilliant win for head coach Rúben Amorim.

With less than five minutes left on the block, Amad Diallo capitalised on a poor pass from Matheus Nunes that saw the City midfielder foul United’s winger inside the area, with Bruno Fernandes expertly converting the penalty.

Then, 115 seconds after, in the 90th minute, Amad Diallo struck again, this time tipping a Lisandro Martínez pass over goalkeeper Ederson before finishing into an empty net from a tight angle, much to the dismay of Pep Guardiola.

United brilliantly troll man City on social media

After the game, United have had a field day on social media, with official channels and fan channels alike basking in the glory of United’s win at the Etihad Stadium.

However, the most brilliant reference to the win came on Thursday morning, when United hinted that they were so dominant at City’s ground that it was as if they played a home game.

In order to promote their home kit head of Christmas sales, United posted on their X account: “Making away grounds feel like home”, accompanied with a winking emoji and a red circle emoji.

The post also contained photos of Amad, Martínez, Diogo Dalot, and Leny Yoro, as can be seen below.

Although United remain 13th in the league table, the win has done a lot to raise moral and belief around the club.

Amorim’s warning about the City win

However, after the game, Amorim was keen to stress that although he understands the jubulations from the players and fans, at the end of the day, it was just another three points on the board.

“I think, for the fans, it has a deep meaning, especially in this context, in this moment,” Amorim told the press after the game.

“But we had a difficult moment a week ago against Nottingham [Forest] at home with a storm. So it was a really tough moment after the game. Today, we are more happy but it’s three points. We have to continue.

“Here [in England] you don’t stop playing, next week you will have three games. It will change the way they see the team but today is a good day, let’s enjoy for 10 minutes and then think about the next game.”
