Club vetoes transfer of Manchester United star, it’s a huge U-turn from last week
Juventus chiefs have now “vetoed” the transfer of Mason Greenwood following a big U-turn from reports last week.
Manchester United are looking to sell Mason Greenwood this summer in order to raise funds for fresh incomings into Erik ten Hag‘s squad.
Greenwood spent last season on loan at La Liga club Getafe after it was confirmed that he would restart his career away from Old Trafford after an investigation of alleged assault and domestic abuse in 2022.

All charges were eventually dropped by the CPS, but he has not kicked a ball for United since. He has performed well while on loan and is generating significant interest.
Although Juventus were deemed to be the front runners after they reportedly agreed on terms with Greenwood, who was a young star at United prior to his arrest, the Serie A giants have now seemingly reversed their decision.
According to La Repubblica via JuveFC, Juventus football director Cristiano Giuntoli has been a huge admirer of the 22-year-old, but the club’s owners have blocked a move for Greenwood.
It is said that due to Greenwood’s “troubled past”, Juventus chiefs are not keen on signing him. United have reportedly demanded as much as £40 million for his talents.
The article further claims that following the “ugly row” that “tarnished” his image, the Old Lady do not want to be associated with him—something the club’s fans have also made clear.
Juventus have not been Greenwood’s only suitors, with Getafe still keen on signing him if they have the facilities to do so.
“We have 15 in the squad plus Greenwood, who we hope to give good news about soon and I hope will stay another year,” club president Angel Torres said earlier this week.
“As the press says, there are many offers, and we will abide by what Manchester United say. It looks like he will continue for another year. Every day that passes, there are more possibilities, but you have to be cautious.”
