Manchester United wonderkid set for Rúben Amorim debut following Serie A bid rejection
One Manchester United wonderkid looks set to make his debut for the club under Rúben Amorim after the club rejected an approach from a Serie A side.
Manchester United’s forward options are looking incredibly depleted as the club edge towards a winter window of failing to bring in a striker despite the clear need for one in Rúben Amorim’s side.
Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee have just 11 goals between the pair across all competitions this season, with the former having not scored in his last 12 appearances.
In the January window, United have allowed Antony to join Real Betis, Marcus Rashford to move to Aston Villa, and Ethan Wheatley head to Walsall for the rest of the campaign, all without bringing in a replacement.
The club signed Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven to reinforce Amorim’s defence. However, a potentially season-ending injury to Lisandro Martínez has only worsened the club’s position and prospects for the remainder of this campaign.
United reject a proposal for Biancheri
Despite United’s rather baffling lack of options up front, the club’s Academy is stacked with brilliant attacking talent, with those such as Chido Obi-Martin and Gabriele Biancheri two of the most coveted young strikers in the country.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the latter has now been subject to interest from the Serie A amid his fantastic goal scoring season.
The Italian transfer specialist has revealed that, with the English transfer deadline approaching for the winter window, United have turned down an approach from Como for the 18-year-old.
United signed the Welsh U19s international from Cardiff City in 2023, and he has been in fine form ever since, with many feeling that he deserves to make his debut for the club in the coming months.
Biancheri injury return and possible debut
Last month, Biancheri was ruled out for a number of weeks after breaking his hand and was pictured having undergone surgery.
He has scored a brilliant 16 goals across 17 appearances for the club’s U18s squad this season and was a vital part of their title challenge last campaign, where the side picked up three trophies.

The Daily Mail reported a few weeks ago that the Welshman was set to be out for around a month through injury, meaning Biancheri is expected to return later in February. However, he will likely miss the FA Youth Cup clash against Chelsea on the 8th.
However, with United incredibly thin with respect to forward options for the remainder of this campaign and an attacking signing unlikely, Biancheri may well be in line to make his debut for the first team this season.
Alongside Obi-Martin, Biancheri has been generating a lot of excitement within the club and those who follow academy football, and once he returns from injury, he may start joining in first-team training sessions under Amorim.
United only have Alejandro Garnacho, Zirkzee, Højlund, and Amad as attacking options at the club, and United’s choice to reject Como’s offer for Biancheri speaks volumes about his pathway to the first team at Old Trafford.
