Marcus Rashford spotted: Every player in Manchester United training vs Rangers as three players absent
Marcus Rashford was included in Ruben Amorim’s final training session ahead of Manchester United’s clash against Rangers.
The Reds will resume their Europa League campaign on Thursday evening when they host Rangers at Old Trafford in their seventh league phase fixture.
The start of 2025 has been a mixed one for the club. A hard-fought draw against Liverpool was followed by an impressive victory over Arsenal.
However, their win against Southampton relied heavily on Amad’s stunning late hat-trick, and they were subsequently outclassed by Brighton in a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
The upcoming clash with Rangers is another match United are expected to win. These are the type of fixtures Ruben Amorim will want his team to consistently dominate.
United currently sit within the top eight of the Europa League standings, a position that secures automatic qualification for the knockout stages.
Amorim is determined to avoid slipping lower in the table, which would force his side into two additional play-off matches during an already congested schedule with limited mid-week training opportunities.
The media were in attendance for the beginning of United’s training session at Carrington on Wednesday morning.
It was quickly noticed that Marcus Rashford was with the squad, despite speculation around his future after this month.
Recent reports have claimed that Rashford remains open to staying at United and is available for selection, with the player doing extra training sessions amidst his absence from games.
The 27-year-old has not played for the club since early December against Viktoria Plzen and has only been included in one matchday squad since then.
Meanwhile, the likes of Victor Lindelöf and Antony were included in the session, while Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Jonny Evans were all absent.
Altay Bayindir was also no doubt training hard and may be an option to start in the game after André Onana’s poor performance against The Seagulls, although the goalkeepers do not usually train with the first-team outfield squad.
The full outfield training squad can be read below.
Defenders: Victor Lindelöf, Tyrell Malacia, Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, Lisandro Martínez, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui.
Midfielders: Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer, Christian Eriksen, Manuel Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes.
Forwards: Marcus Rashford, Joshua Zirkzee, Antony, Amad, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Højlund.
