Manchester United are interested in Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo to sign for the Old Trafford club this summer, sources have told UtdDistrict.

Manchester United are actively searching for a centre-back this summer, with the futures of Harry Maguire, Raphaël Varane, and Victor Lindelöf all uncertain as the club tries to raise funds and cut salary costs.

United have been linked with a number of names so far, such as Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo, but they have now turned their attention to Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

Adarabioyo’s current contract with the Premier League club expires in the summer, meaning he will be a free agent from 1 July, and he is already allowed to negotiate with other clubs as his current deal is in its final few months.

Sources have told UtdDistrict that Manchester United are heavily interested in the 26-year-old, and have been monitoring his situation at Fulham.

United have been impressed with the English defender’s aerial and ball-playing abilities. Formal contacts between the player and the club are expected to take place soon.

Although INEOS are now heading United’s recruitment, UtdDistrict understands that Erik ten Hag remains heavily involved in the process ahead of the summer transfer window and is unaware of whether INEOS has made any final decision on his job at Old Trafford. So far, INEOS has shown him support in their conversations.

It is also added that Ten Hag continues to have the backing of the United dressing room, and the players within the squad believe in him to turn things around both heading into the final set of fixtures this season and beyond.
