“Got a feeling…” Ex-Premier League boss thinks Man United won’t go for manager he “loves”
Harry Redknapp has explained that he feels Manchester United will not appoint the manager he “loves” if they sack Erik ten Hag.
With Erik ten Hag failing to live up to expectations at Old Trafford, many feel that Manchester United may sack him and opt to sign a new manager this summer.
By all accounts, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS, the club’s new co-owners, have been conducting a “season review” in order to determine if the action is necessary this summer, and as of yet, no decision has been reached.

Part of their review has been assessing who could replace Ten Hag at the club’s helm, and two names that have surfaced recently are England manager Gareth Southgate and former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettinho.
Harry Redknapp, who has a wealth of experience managing English clubs for 34 years bar a brief spell as international manager of Jordan in 2016, has explained that although he loves Pochettinho (Poch), he feels United will go with Southgate.
“No, I love Poch. Yeah, Poch is free. I mean, would they get rid of Ten Hag and go to (Poch)?” Redknapp told talkSPORT.
“I think Southgate is the man they really want. That’s my (feeling), but I love Poch, you know. He has got to get back. He will be back in soon somewhere, that’s for sure.
“So, it will be interesting, but I think I’ve just got a feeling Southgate ticks all the boxes with the people that run the club.”
It must be taken into account that these two managers are not the only ones to be linked with a job at Old Trafford should INEOS decide to kick him from the job.
Other names have included Brentford’s Thomas Frank, former Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel, and Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, although he has now signed a new long-term deal with The Tractor Boys.
