Manchester United stars launch ‘private investigation’ and think they know who leaked team news
A new report has claimed that Manchester United’s players feel they know who has been leaking team news after launching private investigations.
Rúben Amorim’s first six weeks as Manchester United head coach have not been easy.
Amid poor form that has left the team 14th in the Premier League table and lining up to face the competition’s leaders, Liverpool, away from home in what many feel will be a thoroughly embarrassing afternoon for the players on Sunday.
The side’s only real hope of success this season is in the Europa League or somehow defeating title contenders Arsenal in the FA Cup next weekend in an effort to defend the trophy they won under Erik ten Hag in 2024.
However, another problem that has caused drama surrounding the 39-year-old is the consistent team news leaks.
Although there has been none in the last few weeks, it got to a point where Amorim’s team became public knowledge the evening before the Manchester City game. Although United won the tie, it became a public embarrassment that the teams were being so regularly leaked.
United players launch private investigation into the leaks
Following consistent questions surrounding the leaked team news, Amorim took it upon himself to talk to a few of the supposed culprits, with reports stating that both Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, who were rumoured to be involved, were spoken to.
However, the club were satisfied that the two players were not part of the problem, and following this, the leaks stopped in mid-December and are yet to resume.
However, according to the Daily Mail, in the aftermath of the drama, some of United’s players have now launched their own private investigations into who from the squad may have been involved.
Although Amorim played down the impact that leaking team news had at the club and admitted that it’s almost impossible to stop, players have taken it into their own hands to discover who has been responsible.
The report states that players’ representatives have since contacted the Daily Mail and claimed they now know who is to blame, although they did not reveal who the culprit or culprits are.
