Manchester United’s new striker Benjamin Šeško has revealed the two biggest differences between the Bundesliga after Premier League after his summer move.
Benjamin Šeško joined Manchester United from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window to help bolster the attack at Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old striker had been a long-term target at Old Trafford and the club finally managed to sign him this summer alongside Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Senne Lammens.
Šeško made his United debut against Arsenal, coming off the bench in the second half. He has since made three more appearances but he’s only started one game.
Ruben Amorim is clearly trying to integrate the new forward carefully and Šeško has already noted some of the differences he’s experiencing in the Premier League.
Šeško reveals two biggest differences between Bundesliga and Premier League
Šeško has now travelled for international duty with Slovenia for World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Switzerland, where he will be hoping to impress.
Speaking to Slovenian outlet Ekipa this week, the new United striker has been discussing the differences he’s getting used to in the Premier League after spending two years in the Bundesliga.
He believes that the overall level of games is ‘certainly much higher’ as well as the individual quality of the players – both on his team and the opposition side.
“The level of the matches is certainly much higher, the players and teammates are also at a higher level. After all, English football is at the highest level in the world of football,” explained Šeško.
“But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, also because I am getting better and faster in every training session, and I am also progressing in my football mentality every day.”
Šeško’s freakish ability will give him chances
It still doesn’t feel like we’ve been able to see what Šeško is about yet, as he has only started one game and he hardly got a chance in that clash.
But from what we have seen, it doesn’t feel like he will have the exact same problems which Rasmus Højlund did during his time at Old Trafford.
Højlund would sometimes find it extremely difficult to get chances in the final third and United players didn’t really build strong relationships with him in those areas.
For Šeško, it seems like his freakish ability in the air will mean that he’s never too far away from getting a chance, with the likes of Patrick Dorgu and Bryan Mbeumo always keen to deliver a dangerous cross into the box.
The 22-year-old has also looked sharp when dropping deep for the ball, and he will just be hoping that his overall level improves as he gets more football over the coming months.
