Man Utd starlet has become ‘a different human’ on loan, he’s ‘dominant’ against the best teams

Manchester United’s decision to loan Harry Amass to Sheffield Wednesday at the start of the season raised eyebrows among supporters.

The Championship side have been plagued by financial turmoil under their former ownership, with reports of players and staff going unpaid.

Last month, Dejphon Chansiri placed the club into administration before stepping away, leaving Wednesday bottom of the table with a negative points tally following sanctions.

Amid the chaos, however, Amass has impressed. The young defender has started all 11 league games, completed 90 minutes in the last 10, and netted his first professional goal against Southampton.

Given the circumstances, United could consider sending further reinforcements to the struggling club in the January transfer window.

Amass becoming a ‘different human’ on loan

Amass has had several injury issues in the last few seasons in the Academy side, with some feeling that he may not be able to make the leap to senior football and maintain his high levels of talent.

However, on Wednesday, boss Henrik Pedersen explained that he feels the 18-year-old has grown immensely in the last six months.

In an interview with the Sheffield Star, Pedersen said: “The young man who came into Sheffield Wednesday and the young man who just left the stadium today are two different humans.

“And they are two different players. His progression has been amazing and, for a young player like Harry, he came with a lot of energy, but then the Championship always come knocking with three games in a row.

“It is tough, but he keeps on playing. This week, against West Brom, against Norwich, against Southampton, he showed against three good teams that he can compete with them.

“It’s not only that he can compete, but he can be dominant in some phases. So I think he has done a big development as a player.

“What I see is a young man who has started to have a big knowledge about himself as a human, who he wants to be, who he doesn’t want to be. He has started to control when his mood comes down to be more stable. I see a young guy who has started to be physically stronger.

“He runs more, he has started to sprint more, he has more accelerations, and he starts to have smaller breaks in the game. He has started to be better between the phases of the game. I like him. He is a good boy, he is a good player and he loves to learn. We love to have him here.”

Wednesday want two further United stars

Amid Amass’ successes, Wednesday are reportedly eyeing January loan moves for Manchester United prospects Gabriele Biancheri and Victor Musa.

The attacking duo have shone in United’s Academy setup and are regarded as two of the club’s most promising young forwards.

A switch to Hillsborough would offer them valuable senior experience while giving Wednesday a much-needed boost of pace and creativity. United are said to be open to temporary deals for both players, viewing such moves as key steps in their development without losing two highly rated assets.

With both Biancheri and Musa already turning heads at youth level thanks to their finishing, technical ability, and composure, the upcoming transfer window could prove crucial in shaping their early careers.
