One of Manchester United’s key leaders is looking to ‘set an example’ on his international duty, which will help United’s youngsters to develop.
After a slow start to the season, Manchester United picked up a much-needed win last weekend, as they eased their way to a 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Sunderland.
Ruben Amorim’s side were helped to victory by Mason Mount and Benjamin Šeško, who each notched a goal during the first half of the match.
This victory has left the Red Devils tenth in the Premier League table after the first seven games, with their next fixture seeing them take a short trip to Anfield as they face an out-of-form Liverpool side.
Before this fixture commences, a decent portion of United’s stars will play for their countries over the international period. This includes Casemiro, who has spoken ahead of Brazil’s clash with South Korea.
Casemiro setting an example
United’s Brazilian powerhouse spoke at a press conference, as reported by the United website, and said, “I’m one of those players who thinks there are many leaders and ways to lead, each one forming their own leadership.
“I like to give more examples, more details of how to do it, how to get there, how to be, where to be, how to work.
“Without a doubt, my relationship with the coach, whom I’ve known for over 10 years, creates a greater affinity. But I like to demonstrate it [leadership] and set an example for the younger ones.
“Having been with the team for a while and having played in two World Cups, of course you try to convey what to do and what not to do.
“But, when it comes to the national team, they’re established players, and you just end up having to adjust a little more. I am one of those who thinks there are many ways to lead, and this is my way of leading.”
Casemiro helping the youngsters
With the 33-year-old leading by example for both club and country, he will set a fantastic precedent for all the young talents both at Brazil and Manchester United.
The Red Devils have a plethora of exciting talents within their ranks, and could really do with some role models to help nurture their development.

One player who this could benefit in particular is Casemiro’s fellow midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who has recently been out of favour for the Reds, despite his obvious talent.
If the Brazilian midfielder can help Mainoo to develop both on and off the field, then it could be the perfect passing of the torch once Casemiro’s time at the club comes to an end.
