“Welcome home…” Four Manchester United stars react to Leny Yoro’s transfer
Four Manchester United stars have reacted to the news that Manchester United have signed 18-year-old Leny Yoro on a five-year contract from Lille.
Leny Yoro‘s transfer to Manchester United has shocked many around the world. United first registered their interest in January, but the player seemed set on joining Real Madrid.
However, over the course of multiple months, United slowly persuaded the 18-year-old by presenting their new project under Erik ten Hag to him and eventually convinced him to pick Old Trafford over La Liga.

Yoro then put pen to paper on Thursday afternoon following the completion of his medical tests and the club then announced the signing on Thursday evening, pending registration.
Since the 20:00 BST announcement, four of United’s players reacted to the signing, with Alejandro Garnacho almost immediately commenting “Welcome bro! @lenyyoro” on the initial Instagram post.
Jonny Evans also did the same, saying “welcome Leny”. Amad Diallo, whose mother tongue is French, just like Yoro’s, said, “Bienvenue leny”, which is “welcome” in French.
“Welcome home @lenyyoro” is what Bruno Fernandes shared on his Instagram story, which will mean a lot to both Yoro and the club’s fans coming from the captain at Old Trafford.
Reacting to the move himself, Yoro told club media: “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour.
“Since my first conversations with the club, they set out a clear plan for how I can develop in Manchester as part of this exciting project, and showed a lot of care for me and my family.
“I know about the history of young players at Manchester United and feel it can be the perfect place to reach my potential and achieve my ambitions, together with my new team-mates. I cannot wait to get started.”
