Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu replacement vs Fulham named as MOTM performance predicted
Former Manchester United star Wes Brown has explained who he feels will replace Patrick Dorgu against Fulham during Sunday afternoon’s FA Cup tie.
Manchester United shift their focus back to the FA Cup as they host Fulham at Old Trafford in the fifth round on Sunday.
Their journey in the competition so far has included a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Arsenal following a 1-1 draw at the Emirates, before a stoppage-time goal from Harry Maguire sealed a 2-1 win against Leicester City.
Rúben Amorim’s side head into this fixture on the back of a 3-2 Premier League win over Ipswich Town, though another unconvincing defensive display has left plenty of questions unanswered.
With United sitting 14th in the league, winning the FA Cup represents their most realistic path to Europa League qualification—unless they can go all the way in Europe and secure a Champions League spot.
Amorim’s Dorgu replacement named
After his first four games for the club, United will be without left wing-back Patrick Dorgu as the player serves his first of a three-match domestic ban as United welcome Fulham to Manchester.
The Danish international was handed a straight red card for a reckless challenge on Omari Hutchinson during the 3-2 win over Ipswich Town.
Speaking to club media, former United defender Wes Brown has now explained who is likely to replace Dorgu in the starting XI against Fulham.
“The big question is who replaces the suspended Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu at left wing-back?,” he started.
“The versatile Noussair Mazraoui will be that guy in my opinion, and I expect him to shine in a crucial Emirates FA Cup fifth-round win at Old Trafford,” he said.
Mazraoui set for MOTM performance
Further, Brown was asked for his match predictions, and he decided that Mazraoui will be handed the Man of the Match award for his pending performance at Old Trafford.

Brown also stated he thinks Alejandro Garnacho will have a big impact as he predicts the player to score the opening goal at Old Trafford, and for United to cruise to a 3-1 victory.
The 45-year-old was asked to name who he predicts will start the tie, with Brown explaining he feels Amorim will choose to play a midfield duo of Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte while Rasmus Højlund keeps his place up front and Joshua Zirkzee drops to the bench.
Brown’s predicted XI: Onana, Yoro, Maguire, De Ligt, Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Mazraoui, Fernandes, Højlund, Garnacho.
