Manchester United squad vs Nottingham Forest: two changes expected, forward dropped for Kobbie Mainoo
Rúben Amorim is expected to make two changes to his Manchester United squad as Kobbie Mainoo returns to the Premier League to face Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.
Rúben Amorim is gearing up for his second Premier League fixture at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Nottingham Forest.
The match comes just days after United suffered a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal, leaving the club eager to secure crucial points in their quest to climb the league table.

As of Wednesday evening, United find themselves in 11th place but could slip to 13th if other results go against them. They currently trail fourth-placed Manchester City by seven points.
Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, are in impressive form, enjoying a stellar start to their campaign and sitting sixth in the table. However, a win for United on Saturday afternoon could see them draw level with Forest in the standings.
Two changes expected
Amorim is expected to make two changes to the United squad that faced Arsenal, with Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martínez returning to the fold.
Mainoo and Martínez were both suspended for the trip to Arsenal due to yellow card accumulation after they both picked up their fifth each in the Premier League against Everton, leading to a one-match ban.
With this having now been served, they will be available, and it’s expected that Amorim will add both back into his squad to face Forest on Saturday afternoon.
Martínez is expected to replace 16-year-old Godwill Kukonki in the squad, while Kobbie Mainoo may replace Antony.
United had six forwards in the squad that faced Arsenal while only having five midfielders, and with five of the forwards more essential to Amorim, Antony may be dropped in order to accommodate the 19-year-old star.
Beyond this, there are no new injuries after Luke Shaw missed out on the squad to face Arsenal, meaning the rest of the squad is expected to remain the same.
Expected Man United squad
Goalkeepers: André Onana, Altay Bayındır.
Defenders: Noussair Mazraoui, Lisandro Martínez, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Diogo Dalot, Tyrell Malacia.
Midfielders: Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo.
Forwards: Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Højlund, Joshua Zirkzee.
