Former Premier League midfielder Jamie Redknapp has blasted one of Manchester United’s stars for a “fundamentally bad” moment against Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United suffered a 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford as Nottingham Forest took all three Premier League points at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The game started fast, with Nikola Milenkovic getting the visitors off the mark within two minutes as he headed the opener in from a corner, although Rasmus Højlund replied not long after, tapping in a rebound from Alejandro Garnacho‘s effort on 18 minutes.

After half-time, Forest recreated their quick start, once again scoring within two minutes of kick-off to regain their lead at Old Trafford, much to the dismay of Amorim. Chris Wood then doubled their lead, but Bruno Fernandes grabbed one back with 30 minutes left to play at Old Trafford.

However, despite the side’s best efforts, they failed to capitalise on their momentum as Amorim lost his first game at Old Trafford.

Redknapp’s “fundamentally bad” moment

While there were a whole comedy of errors that led to Nottingham Forest’s three goals, the worst of the lot was for the second as Morgan Gibbs-White struck home.

Just minutes into the second half, the Egnlish midfelder took a low pot shot from the edge of the area, and the silghtly swerving shot completley wrong footed goalkeeper André Onana, sneaking in.

Analysing the moment, former Premier League midfielder Jamie Redknapp blasted Onana for his “fundamentally” horrible error in the second half.

Redknapp said: “I never played in goal, I didn’t even do it in training. But that is fundamentally really bad goalkeeping. You can talk about tactical tweaks all you like, but that goal changed everything.”

Former United player Phil Jones had his own say on the player who earned a 3/10 rating on the night, explaining: “Listen, what I will say, he will be disappointed with that.

“You know, when we watch it back, it’s not a great watch. I’d like to give him a bit of credit and say the ball is deviating a little bit.”
