Manchester United fans sent fresh warning about Leny Yoro by Old Trafford icon
Louis Saha has sent Manchester United fans a fresh warning about Leny Yoro as the 18-year-old works his way back to full fitness.
When Manchester United announced the acquisition of 18-year-old Leny Yoro from Lille for a fee of approximately £52 million, fans worldwide were eager to see the talented young French player in action.
United managed to outmaneuver Real Madrid in a fiercely contested transfer battle, with many convinced that Los Blancos were poised to secure the signing. However, the club’s new board, led by CEO Omar Berrada, managed to turn the situation in their favour.

Yoro made his debut in a friendly against Rangers, where he played 45 minutes. Just a week later, he started in a match against Arsenal in the USA but had to be substituted after 30 minutes due to a foot injury, ruling him out for three months.
Following United’s 2-1 win over Brentford earlier this month, United announced that Yoro has returned to individual training on grass as he edges closer back to full fitness.
Saha’s warning about Yoro
However, former United striker and Old Trafford icon Louis Saha has explained that United fans must be warned that Yoro will not return to the side as a ready-made starter despite his positive performances in pre-season.
Speaking to BetFred, Saha was asked if he expects Yoro to slot straight into United’s XI once he returns from injury.
“I think he can, but in all due respect, when you’ve had a long injury, you need time to get back, and it’s completely understandable that you’re not going to be totally match fit,” the Frenchman explained.
“He’s a new player to the Premier League, so he’s yet to experience the changes between this league and Ligue 1, and for that reason, I don’t expect him to be at his best straight away.
“He will have to take his time to get himself ready because injuries can come back, so they have to be very careful to ensure that he can get through the rest of the season without any problems. That’s the main target for him.
“His talent can really help the team once he returns because he’s very comfortable on the ball, and he can provide a threat in the opposition’s box. I’m excited to see him in action, and I wish him the best for when he’s fit again.”
Yoro’s new surroundings
Although Yoro signed in the summer, due to his injury, he was never able to make an official debut under Erik ten Hag before the Dutchman was fired.
When Yoro returns, he will be greeted in training by pending new head coach Rúben Amorim, and fans are excited to see how the youngster could develop under the Portuguese boss.
Amorim is known to play a three-at-the-back style of play, to which fans have theorised that Yoro could excel.
The 18-year-old would likely play as the right defender of a back three, with Matthijs de Ligt in the middle and Lisandro Martínez on the left.
