Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw: Rúben Amorim delivers triple Manchester United injury update as fresh setback confirmed
Rúben Amorim has delivered a triple injury update as it’s confirmed that one Manchester United star has suffered a fresh setback in his recovery.
Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend as they travel to face Fulham, with both sides enduring mixed form.
Rúben Amorim’s men come into the match fresh off a dramatic late victory against Rangers, secured by a stunning strike from captain Bruno Fernandes. However, their struggles in the league continue to be a concern.
In their last domestic outing, United suffered a disheartening 3-1 defeat to Brighton, leaving them 13th in the table—10 points clear of the relegation zone but a worrying 14 points adrift of the top four.
After two wins and a loss in their recent trio of home fixtures, United will aim to carry the momentum from their European triumph into this trip to London. With three points increasingly vital, the pressure is on to deliver at Craven Cottage.
Amorim issues triple United injury update
Against Rangers, both Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro had to be taken off prematurely, with the former coming off at half-time and the latter after 55 minutes.
“I don’t know,” Amorim replied when asked about the pair during his pre-Fulham press conference.
“Leny has a pain, and Mata [Matthijs] was a bruise from a touch. Leny was a little bit tired, he is playing more in this moment, so we have to be really careful, and we will see. I don’t know.”
Amorim was then asked about left-back Luke Shaw, who was initially due to return this week, but the 39-year-old confirmed that he feels it will take a further few weeks for the English defender to return to the first-team squad.
“He is going to be fit to train with the team,” Amorim said of Shaw. “Then we have to start with more minutes, we do not have a lot of time to train.

“We have to put some exercises in 10 minutes and then he has to make extra work to improve his fitness. I don’t know [when he will play], it is two weeks to start training before I think about putting him in for some minutes.”
Elsewhere, Victor Lindelöf returned to training earlier this week after suffering an injury against Tottenham last month, also Amorim has previously clarified that it may take a little longer before he returns to the matchday squad.
Noussair Mazraoui was left out of United’s midweek squad as a precaution due to a knock, but there is little indication that it’s a serious problem and is currently expected to return this weekend.
Mason Mount is expected to be out until March after suffering a hamstring injury against Manchester City in December.
Fulham have a healthy squad right now, with only Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson unavailable for Marco Silva this weekend with a knee and thigh issue, respectively.
