A full breakdown of Manchester United’s current injured players as Rúben Amorim prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United are preparing for their return to Premier League action with a trip to face Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days.

The two sides have already clashed in North London this season, with Spurs edging a dramatic 4-3 encounter to knock Rúben Amorim’s side out of the Carabao Cup.

Both clubs have endured similar struggles this campaign, with the two “Big Six” rivals occupying 13th and 14th place in the table, Tottenham trailing United by two points.

The upcoming fixture promises to be a tense battle, as a defeat for United would be a setback for Amorim’s project, while a loss for Spurs would intensify pressure on Ange Postecoglou, with growing calls from fans for his dismissal.

United’s injury latest

Against Leicester City last week, United had a number of players unavailable as Harry Maguire’s late header secured a dramatic 2-1 win and a place in round five of the FA Cup against Fulham.

Although many expected Altay Bayındır to start, he was ruled out of the tie with an unspecified issue. However, earlier this week, a report clarified that it was only a minor problem and may be available for selection this weekend.

Meanwhile, although initial reports stated that Shaw would hopefully be back in training following a minor injury setback last week, United’s latest training photos from Monday did not feature the player.

Jonny Evans remains out with a muscle complaint and has not featured for United since they last played Tottenham away from home. At the same time, Victor Lindelöf returned to duty a few weeks ago and is fully fit to play if needed.

Mason Mount is undergoing rehabilitation from a hamstring injury and is currently expected to return next month, while Tom Heaton is out with a minor issue that saw Hubert Graczyk granted a place on the bench against Leicester.

Lisandro Martínez is out for the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury during a match against Crystal Palace and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight months.

James Maddison and Destiny Udogie are expected to return for the upcoming match against United, while goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario should be back by the end of February. Their return will be a boost for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Several key players remain sidelined, including Radu Dragusin, who is out long-term with a cruciate ligament injury, and Dominic Solanke, who is expected to return in early March. Wilson Odobert recently had surgery with no confirmed return date, while Brennan Johnson could be back by mid-February.

Timo Werner, Micky van de Ven, and Cristian Romero are all recovering from muscle injuries and could return soon, but their exact comeback dates remain uncertain. Spurs have struggled with defensive depth due to these absences, which has affected their recent performances.

Despite the challenges, Postecoglou remains optimistic, saying the team will be “outstanding” once the injury crisis is over. With some key players set to return soon, Spurs will hope to regain momentum in the Premier League and their upcoming fixtures.
