Manchester United injury news: Five stars may return vs Everton, seven remain unavailable

Rúben Amorim may see as many as five Manchester United players return as he prepares his team to face Everton in a big Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United will be eager to turn their fortunes around when they take on Everton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Rúben Amorim’s side are coming off a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur, a result that left them languishing in 15th place in the league table.
With pressure mounting on the club, Everton previously provided Amorim with his most emphatic victory since taking charge, as Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford both netted braces in a dominant 4-0 win back in November.
However, since then, former United manager David Moyes has taken the reins at Goodison Park and overseen an upturn in form, lifting Everton to 14th place—one point above United after 25 matches.
Five stars could return vs Everton
Against Tottenham, Amorim had to name eight Academy players alongside Victor Lindelöf on the bench, and while Chido Obi came on to make his debut in the dying moments, the rest did not play any minutes.
However, Amorim will be hoping his bench will include more firepower against Everton, with Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen both hopefully back after missing the Spurs game through illness.
Meanwhile, there is also hope that Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer may return to action, although it’s yet to be seen if the pair have returned to training or not this week.
Further, Altay Bayındır recently shared footage confirming that he is back in individual training, and the back-up goalkeeper make the bench this weekend.
Seven United players remain unavilable
However, of the 12 players who missed the Tottenham tie, it’s expected that seven of them will continue to be unavailable for Amorim.

Last weekend, news broke that Amad had suffered an ankle injury in training earlier that week, and the 40-year-old explained that he feels the catalytic forward will not return to the squad again this season.
Kobbie Mainoo also injured his calf in training around the same time and is expected to be out for six weeks. Lisandro Martínez underwent an operation earlier this month after damaging his ACL, and may not return until November.
Mason Mount is not expected to return until later this month after suffering a hamstring issue in December, while Luke Shaw returned to training for a few days before being ruled out of the Tottenham trip as United continue to take his rehabilitation slowly.
Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton also remain out of action.
