Manchester United finally break silence on “long-term concern” for injured man, he’s already missed 13 games

Manchester United have finally broken their silence on one Rúben Amorim player who has missed the club’s last 13 games in a row due to an unspecified injury.
Rúben Amorim’s Manchester United squad have been hit by a wave of major injuries in recent weeks, throwing the team into disarray.
Against Crystal Palace earlier this month, Lisandro Martínez was stretchered off late in the match with a knee injury, later confirmed as a ruptured ACL that will sideline him for the rest of the season.
Soon after, it was revealed that Amad had suffered an ankle injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign, while Kobbie Mainoo faces over a month on the sidelines due to a calf issue.
Toby Collyer has also been unavailable in recent weeks, while Mason Mount and Luke Shaw remain out with no confirmed return dates.
United finally issue update on Evans injury
Evans has been unavailable for United for Amorim’s last 13 fixtures across all competitions, with his last appearance coming against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup in December and his last squad involvement coming against Wolverhampton Wanderers the following week.
Funnily enough, Evans scored with one of the last kicks of the game, leaping to convert a Bruno Fernandes corner delivery to salvage a final goal in the 4-3 loss.
After his absence has remained unexplained for several months, United finally stated on their website that the 37-year-old is one of four “longer-term concerns” within the squad, therefore confirming Evans will not be back in action soon.
There have also been rumours that the injury Evans is struggling with is a muscular problem, although reports have so far failed to be more specific.
Evans is not available for the foreseeable future alongside Mainoo, Martínez, and Amad, with the former not expected back until as late as April while the latter two are out for the season.
Evans one of many players departing
Evans has played for United for a total of 11 seasons across two stints, but with his contract expiring in June, he looks set to depart the club for a second time alongside several others.

Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelöf, and Tom Heaton’s respective deals also run out at the end of the campaign, with all four players expected to be made free agents as of 1 July.
Meanwhile Casemiro is another name who has been touted as a potential exit, despite the player recently confirming he’d be happy to stay at Old Trafford.
United are also expected to offload Marcus Rashford and Antony this summer once their loan deals expire at Aston Villa and Real Betis respectively, while PSV Eindhoven have an £8.3 million buy clause in their loan of Tyrell Malacia.
