The latest on Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro as Rúben Amorim prepares his side to face Fulham away from home on Sunday evening.

Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham, as both teams look to steady their inconsistent form.

Rúben Amorim’s side are buoyed by a dramatic late victory over Rangers, sealed by a spectacular goal from captain Bruno Fernandes. Despite this European high, their league struggles persist, adding pressure to their campaign.

A disappointing 3-1 defeat to Brighton in their last league match has left United languishing in 13th place, 10 points clear of the relegation zone but a daunting 14 points off the Champions League spots.

With two wins and a loss from their recent home fixtures, United will aim to carry the momentum of their midweek triumph into this crucial London clash. Securing all three points against Fulham is becoming increasingly vital as they seek to revive their league fortunes.

Post-match assessment shows no serious issues

Against Rangers, both Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt were taken off early, with some spotting the former with a limp after a hard-fought fixture.

Initial concerns stated that both players may miss the travelling squad to West London on Saturday, but a report from UtdMenace on X, who regularly provides accurate updates regarding the team’s fitness, explained that despite slight discomfort, there would hopefully be no serious issues.

It has since been confirmed that both players have travelled to the capital and will be included in the squad for the Fulham clash, although it remains to be seen whether they will start.

Meanwhile, Amorim revealed that Luke Shaw will now not be back for another few weeks, despite initial hopes that he would be able to join the first-team in the coming days.

“He is going to be fit to train with the team,” Amorim said of the England international. “Then we have to start with more minutes, we do not have a lot of time to train.

“We have to put some exercises in 10 minutes and then he has to make extra work to improve his fitness. I don’t know [when he will play], it is two weeks to start training before I think about putting him in for some minutes.”

Victor Lindelöf rejoined training earlier this week, but both he and Noussair Mazraoui missed the Rangers game, although the club confirmed that the latter was only left out due to precaution after a slight knock.

Mason Mount is undergoing recovery after a hamstring injury in December against Manchester City ruled him out until March.

Fulham injury news

Marco Silva has almost a completely fit squad to face United, with only Kenny Tete’s knee issue and Reiss Nelson’s thigh problem the only concerns.

“It was a normal week to prepare for the game,” Silva told Fulham’s official website earlier this week. “We have more time to work on certain things, to give rest to the players, recover them and be ready for the next one.

“It’s not a massive difference [in team news] from the last two games, since Sander Berge is back and in a very good way against Leicester.

“It’s the same about Kenny Tete, he will be longer, and Reiss Nelson is in the last steps. He’s recovering and already involved in some small drills with the first team. Let’s hope he can be ready soon.”
