Manchester United travel to North London this Saturday for an early kick-off against Tottenham Hotspur, and will be looking to strike on a weakened Spurs squad.
Manchester United’s next Premier League fixture is a titanic clash against Spurs, where Ruben Amorim’s side will look to capitalise on a good run of form.
After previously winning three fixtures in a row, United were held to a 2-2 draw by Sean Dyche’s new Nottingham Forest side, despite numerous efforts on goal.
The last time the two sides faced each other was in May earlier this year in the Europa League final, where the Reds were held to a 1-0 loss, and Spurs won their first trophy since 2008.
United will be hoping to get revenge, and the recent confirmation that injuries mean that Spurs will have a weakened squad on Saturday will leave Amorim with a smile as his squad gets an additional rest period due to the European midweek games.
Bergvall confirmed to miss Spurs fixture
It has been previously mentioned that three key Spurs players are a doubt for Saturday’s game. However, Djed Spence and Mohammed Kudus have since been seen in training and are likely to make the bench at least.
That said, Manchester World have confirmed that Spurs starlet Lucas Bergvall will miss both Tottenham’s fixtures against Copenhagen and United.
The Swedish midfielder had been impressing under Thomas Frank this season, but a clash with Enzo Fernandez last week against Chelsea left Bergvall with a concussion, which puts him out of action for the foreseeable future.
The 19-year-old had made 15 appearances so far for Spurs this season and had become a mainstay in Frank’s first team.
Now, the Spurs gaffer will be forced to utilise secondary options, such as Rodrigo Bentancur, who has been rotated due to the squad’s vast amount of injuries.
Two United defenders return from injury
Amorim has had his own problems with injury, with Matheus Cunha missing a few games with a hamstring injury, and Harry Maguire being forced to sit out after his goal against Liverpool to win the tie.
That said, Maguire returned to the United bench last Saturday, despite not getting any minutes. Amorim will look to ease him back into the first team as one of his more valuable players.

Lisandro Martinez is also expected to make a return soon, as he has been spotted in training recently, news that United fans will be over the moon with.
Martinez has been out for almost a year now with a cruciate ligament injury, missing 36 games in the process. Fans will be eager to see ‘The Butcher’ return to the first team and play under Amorim again.
