Rúben Amorim is expected to make changes to his Manchester United squad as they travel to face Fulham in West London in a Premier League Sunday fixture.

Manchester United are back in Premier League action this weekend as they travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham, with both sides experiencing inconsistent form.

Rúben Amorim’s squad arrive on the back of a thrilling last-minute victory over Rangers, thanks to a brilliant strike from captain Bruno Fernandes. However, their domestic form remains a concern, as they continue to underperform in the league.

Their most recent Premier League outing ended in a frustrating 3-1 defeat to Brighton, leaving United in 13th place—10 points above the relegation zone and a significant 14 points behind the top four.

After two wins and a defeat in their last three home matches, United will hope to build on their European success as they head to London. With three points now a necessity, a strong performance against Fulham is crucial to restoring confidence.

Amorim expected to make two changes vs Fulham

Despite having 23 slots available for selection against Rangers, Amorim chose to only take 20 players to Old Trafford, which is the side of a usual Premier League squad.

Choosing to leave out those such as Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelöf on Thursday evening despite having the space to select them showed that he felt these were the only 20 players ready to face Rangers.

However, there are a few injury concerns that will no doubt force Amorim to make changes to his squad when they travel to London on Saturday for the Sunday game.

Amorim confirmed that both Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt suffered injuries against Rangers, hence their premature withdrawals, meaning that Lindelöf may be thrown back into action after returning to training earlier this week.

Noussair Mazraoui was left out of United’s midweek squad as a precaution due to a knock, so may be back to fill the second defensive space if he has recovered.

There is also the subject of who replaces Anthony, with the Brazilian winger set to fly to Seville for a medical with Real Betis ahead of a six-month loan move.

Amorim hinted on Thursday evening that Rashford’s situation will only be revisited if he does not depart before the winter transfer window deadline, meaning the chances are the winger will not feature on Sunday.

No further returns are respected before Saturday with respect to the sidelined players such as Luke Shaw and Mason Mount, meaning Amorim may turn to the Academy to fill the last spot.

Godwill Kukonki has been in and around the first-team squad of late and may be afforded a space for the trip to West London.
