Breaking: Manchester United have MADE their decision on Erik ten Hag
According to a new report, Manchester United have now made their final decision on Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford.
Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe secured a 27.7% stake in Manchester United in early 2024, Erik ten Hag‘s future at the club has been shrouded in uncertainty. The team’s poor results and inconsistent form throughout the season have led many to question whether Ten Hag is the right manager to guide United into a new era under INEOS‘ ownership.
Scepticism about his leadership grew as fans and analysts debated his capability to handle the pressures and expectations associated with the club’s ambitious vision.

Despite the mounting pressure, Ten Hag managed to lead the team to an FA Cup victory at the end of the season. This triumph has provided a glimmer of hope and suggested that there could be a potential path to future success under his guidance.
The FA Cup win has been seen by some as a sign that, with the right support and stability, Ten Hag might still be able to steer Manchester United towards achieving their goals in this new chapter under Ratcliffe’s partial ownership.
However, a new report from The Athletic has now claimed that a final decision has been made to keep Ten Hag at United.
“Erik ten Hag will stay as Manchester United manager after the club’s end-of-season review culminated in a decision to keep the Dutchman — and he has agreed to remain at Old Trafford,” the article read.
“Following a period of major uncertainty over Ten Hag’s future, United held talks with the 54-year-old on Tuesday and the preference of both parties was for his tenure to continue.”
Ratcliffe and Sir Dave Brailsford, who have decided to move forward with Ten Hag for now, led the decision. His contract expires in June 2025, and the report explains that talks will proceed about extending it.
