Manchester United legend calls Erik ten Hag to reverse controversial decision
Manchester United legend Andy Cole has called for Erik ten Hag to reverse his decision to banish Jadon Sancho from his Old Trafford squad.
The likelihood is that Jadon Sancho will not play for Manchester United again after Erik ten Hag froze him out of the squad following a public spat back in September.
Against Arsenal at the beginning of the season, Sancho was left out of the squad to face Arsenal. After Ten Hag explained that Sancho had been left out of the side due to poor training performances, Sancho released a statement on social media claiming he was being made a scapegoat for poor team performances.

Sancho was then completely excluded from the first-team squad for the remainder of the season, moving to Borussia Dortmund on a six-month loan in mid-January.
The current expectation is that Snacho will be sold in the summer, with INEOS wanting to raise funds for summer incomings with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team wanting a new central defender, right-back, striker, and potentially a midfielder.
Nothing’s impossible
Former United striker and club legend Andy Cole has explained that he feels that United should try and get the best out of Jadon Sancho, rather than sell him.
“Nothing’s impossible,” Cole told BetFred when asked whether he believes Sancho could ever play for United again. “Back in the days of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, when he had an issue with a player, or vice-versa, that would remain in the dressing room.
“Now, I’m aware that the relationship between Jadon and Erik ten Hag has been talked about a lot in the media, but you’re always going to need your best players, and if Jadon’s perceived to be one of the club’s best players, then you’ve got to try and get the best out of him.”
Don’t sell Sancho
Continuing, Cole claimed that instead of taking a loss on Sancho, Erik ten Hag may as well try and sort their differences and take a chance on the winger. Sancho was signed for £75 million in 2021.
“I read that Manchester United could potentially sell him for around £30 million, but I don’t believe the club are in a position to take such a loss on him, so for me personally, the club needs to try and get the best out of the players they have.
“If Sancho comes back and he and Erik ten Hag can sort out whatever their grievances are, then the club needs to try and get the best out of Jadon.”
