Man United expected XI vs Coventry as Erik ten Hag takes FA Cup semi-final risk
Erik ten Hag is expected to take a risk as Manchester United line up to face Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Erik ten Hag will be assessing his options as he picks Manchester United‘s XI against Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday afternoon.
Although United have got themselves to Wembley Stadium, the season has been somewhat of a failure, with the club out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup while sitting seventh in the Premier League table.

André Onana has been fantastic for United across 2024, being one of the club’s most consistent players. He is expected to start. The only game he has missed all season is an FA Cup game against Newport County earlier this year.
In defence, United have very limited options, with seven of their first-team defenders injured, including five of the club’s six centre-backs. While Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will start as they are the club’s only fit first-team defenders, it is almost certain that Casemiro will start alongside the English international in front of Onana.
With this in mind, Erik ten Hag may choose to attack in midfield. Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes are set to start, and Casemiro is almost certainly being used as an auxiliary centre-back; Mason Mount could be handed a chance to start.

As Manchester United aim to assert dominance against Coventry City, incorporating Mount into the lineup could prove ideal.
This addition could see Kobbie Mainoo assuming a slightly deeper position, granting Mount the opportunity to advance the play with his characteristic two-touch style.
In attack, one more change is expected. Antony was exempt from the squad against Bournemouth due to a minor injury but is back in training and could well start against Coventry over Marcus Rashford.
Should that be the case, he will start on the right wing, with Alejandro Garnacho on the left-hand side and Rasmus Højlund through the middle.
Man United Expected XI
Onana, Dalot, Casemiro, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Mainoo, Mount, Fernandes, Antony, Højlund, Garnacho.
