Manchester United confirm Rúben Amorim XI vs Lyon as Mason Mount decision made (Europa League)

Manchester United have confirmed Rúben Amorim’s decision surrounding Mason Mount as the club line up to face Olympique Lyonnais in the Europa League.

Manchester United shift their attention back to Europa League action this Thursday evening, traveling to France for a quarter-final clash with Olympique Lyonnais.

Rúben Amorim’s men earned their place in the last eight with an impressive 5-2 aggregate victory over Real Sociedad, showing their attacking strength and defensive stability.

Lyon, on the other hand, advanced easily with a 7-1 aggregate win over FCSB, setting up a highly anticipated match with United. Amorim’s side remains the only unbeaten team left in this year’s Europa League, a record they’ll be eager to maintain.

However, after back-to-back goalless fixtures by United in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, Amorim will be hoping his players can rediscover their scoring touch when they face Lyon.

The XIs have been confirmed below, with Amorim keeping Mason Mount on the bench for the fourth tie in a row despite calls to start him over Alejandro Garnacho from fans, starting the same XI that faced Man City.

Manchester United’s line-up

Starting XI: Onana, Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro, Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu, Fernandes, Højlund, Garnacho.

Subs: Bayındır, Heaton, Amass, Kamason, Kukonki, Lindelöf, Shaw, Eriksen, Mainoo, Moorhouse, Mount, Zirkzee.
