“Hopefully…” Manchester United handed Ayden Heaven injury verdict as positive update given
Manchester United have been handed a verdict on Ayden Heaven’s Manchester United injury during Rúben Amorim’s 3-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday evening.
Manchester United secured a dominant 3-0 win over Leicester City, with goals from Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes lifting Rúben Amorim’s side to 13th in the Premier League.
Højlund struck first just after the half-hour mark, finishing a well-timed pass from Fernandes. Leicester pushed for an equaliser before the break, but Wilfred Ndidi and Patson Daka couldn’t convert their chances.
Early in the second half, Ayden Heaven was stretchered off and replaced by Toby Collyer. Garnacho had a goal ruled out for offside but soon made up for it with a brilliant turn and finish to make it 2-0.
Fernandes sealed the victory late on with a superb strike, capping off a confident display from United as they head into the March international break.
United handed Heaven injury verdict
While the 3-0 win has brightened the mood considerably at United, Heaven’s injury has put a damper on the celebrations, with fans worried about the 18-year-old.
Early in the second half, he went down after a challenge at United’s back post from Paterson Daka, and looked in immediate pain as he shot his hand in the air to call for medical attention before being tended to and stretchered off the field.
Speaking after the fixture, former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves handed his verdict on Heaven, explaining that although he hopes the injury is not serious, he fears it could look bleak for the young centre-back.
“Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked,” Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.
The ex-United player was then asked if he thinks the injury looked quite bad, to which he replied: “Well, I just, I was worried that he’d put his hand up straight away.
“Because when you hurt yourself, even though, if you haven’t hurt yourself really bad, when you do, you just know, you feel it. So I worry that he put his hand up so quickly.
“But I hope it’s not bad, because I just think he’s, you know, he’s just come into the team, he’s played so well. You know, it hasn’t been many highlights this year, and he would have been one of those. So that’s, fingers crossed, it’s not a bad one.”
United handed positive Heaven update
Although Amorim himself admitted that United will not have a proper update on Heaven’s condition until later this week, they were dealt a positive piece of news after the game.
Following the final whistle, Heaven was spotted walking out of the King Power Stadium with his foot in a brace, which is fantastic news compared to what was initially feared from Hargreaves.

Crucially, Heaven’s appearance after the game shows that he was not taken to hospital, meaning his injury was not one that required immediate attention, and also, he was seen walking without any further aid such as crutches.
United have two weeks before their next fixture, meaning Heaven will have extra time to recover before his return, and a full update is expected to be issued later this week.
