“Continuing…” Manchester United fans dealt Wednesday morning Ayden Heaven injury update
Manchester United fans have been dealt a fresh update on the status of Ayden Heaven following his injury against Leicester City last weekend.
Manchester United produced their most dominant Premier League performance in months last weekend, as Rúben Amorim’s side cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Leicester City on a brisk Sunday evening in the Midlands.
Goals from Rasmus Højlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Bruno Fernandes sealed the win in style, reinforcing the team’s growing momentum and injecting a much-needed sense of belief ahead of the March international break.
Beyond the scoreline, the match offered several positives for United. Young full-back Harry Amass made his senior debut, a milestone moment as he stepped onto the pitch for the first time on his 18th birthday.
Meanwhile, teenage centre-back Ayden Heaven continued to impress with a composed and confident display, further cementing his reputation as one of the club’s brightest defensive prospects.
However, Heaven’s promising night was cut short in unfortunate circumstances. After a standout first half, he went down clutching his ankle and immediately signaled for medical attention.
Latest news on Heaven’s injury
The sight of the 18-year-old being stretchered off dampened the mood among United’s travelling supporters and sparked concern among fans watching around the world, fearing a potentially serious injury.
Despite initial anxieties, early assessments from injury specialists suggest that unless Heaven has suffered a lower leg fracture, his recovery timeline may be more optimistic than first feared.
If all goes well, he could be back in action within a matter of weeks, offering a sigh of relief for United and their supporters.
On Wednesday morning, Manchester Evening News journalist Steven Railston provided an update on Heaven’s injury status. Railston confirmed that United are continuing to “assess” the youngster.
This comes following confirmation from the player himself that he is “recovering fast” from his initial problem and thanked United fans for their support of late.
Railston’s fresh update hints that United are still not entirely confident of the extent of Heaven’s injury, and given there is no pressing need to confirm an injury timeline due to the international break, using this time to properly understand the issue is smart.
Amorim will be hoping for good news
While an injury to a young player is not always such a significant issue due to more senior options, the lack of centre-backs available to Amorim right now means he will be hoping for the best possible update on Amorim.
Leny Yoro is expected to return from injury soon, and the Frenchman has been fantastic in the left centre-back slot of late, which will alleviate some of the pressure on the head coach’s defence.
However, with Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martínez, Jonny Evans, and Luke Shaw all still unavailable, Heaven had cemented himself as a solid option to play, and Amorim will no doubt want the player to recover as soon as possible.

“If he continues like that, he is going to play,” Amorim said of the young defender after his fantastic performance against Real Sociedad last week.
“Of course he is young and he didn’t play much this season, maybe only 45 minutes for the Under-21s, then a few minutes here and now a full game. I really like his confidence. I like his pace, I think he is good in defending the box and I think he is quite complete.
“But he has a lot of work to do in the Premier League. We will face a different kind of player and he will be tested in a different kind of way, so we are trying to manage all of this because he is still really young.”
