Manchester United have played 22 fixtures so far this season and have scored 36 goals without a recognised striker for the most part of the campaign.
Erik ten Hag has brought some major improvements to Old Trafford since he joined the club.
United are looking like a much more defensively sound unit for the most part and are also playing better football going forward. But, they are missing a striker.
Cristiano Ronaldo was uninfluential before he left the club during the World Cup break, scoring just once in the Premier League. A January transfer is needed for The Reds if they want to finish in the top four.
Marcus Rashford leads the current United pack in terms of goal contributions this season. He has scored nine goals after his most recent strike against Burnley in the Carabao Cup.
Christian Eriksen has the most assists with six, whilst he’s scored his first two United goals in his last two appearances.
Until a new goalscorer comes in, Ten Hag’s men will need to expect the goals to be shared around the team, with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial stepping up in front of goal.
United’s top goal contributors so far in 2022/23 read as follows:
Marcus Rashford – 12 (9g, 3a)
Christian Eriksen – 8 (2g, 6a)
Anthony Martial – 6 (4g, 2a)
Bruno Fernandes – 5 (3g, 2a)
Jadon Sancho – 4 (3g, 1a)
Alejandro Garnacho – 4 (2g, 2a)
Antony – 3 (3g, 0a)
Scott McTominay – 3 (2g, 1a)
Casemiro – 2 (1g, 1a)
Diogo Dalot – 2 (1g, 1a)
