Manchester United starlet shines during U21 friendly, he has got “excellent finishing”
Manchester United’s academy won 3-1 against National League North side Chester this week, and one player was praised for his “excellent” finishing.
Gabriele Biancheri was excellent for United’s under-18s last term. The young striker scored 15 goals and registered three assists in all competitions.
The forward has great back-to-goal play and is easily the best ‘fox in the box’ in the two main academy teams at the moment.
Despite not being involved in the first team yet, Biancheri has already made a positive impression during his first outing of pre-season.
The young Reds played against Chester this week and provided a strong performance to win 3-1 against the National League North side on the day.
Binacheri scored twice in the game. His first goal was a smart reverse finish, wrongfooting the goalkeeper after a defensive mistake from the hosts.
However, it was the 17-year-old’s second goal which highlighted his ice-cool nature in front of goal.

After latching onto a pass in behind the defensive line, Biancheri took the ball past the goalkeeper with his first touch before calmly slotting the ball into an empty net from a tight angle.
Speaking after the victory, Under-21s manager Travis Binnion was full of praise for Binacheri and James Bailey, the other goalscorer for United.
“Gabe’s finishing in and around the box is excellent,” Binnion told club media. “His movement was good, and I think his all-round game is developing nicely.
“James took his goal well at the end, it’s not easy to take them with a lot of time, but he composed himself. He never looked in doubt.
“At this point of the season, the last part of the pitch is the hardest part to get right—it’s the hardest part to get right, period.”
