Man United scouts stunned by ‘phenomenal’ transfer target as departure confirmed
Manchester United scouts have been stunned by a ‘phenomenal’ transfer target whose departure this summer has been confirmed.
The Reds have turned their attention to Lille centre-back Leny Yoro in an effort to bolster their defence after a challenging season under Erik ten Hag.
Injuries led the team to concede over 80 goals across all competitions and utilise more than 30 different defensive lineups in 52 matches.
With INEOS managing recruitment for the 2024 summer transfer window, the 18-year-old has become a primary target alongside the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite and Jean-Clair Todibo.
The Athletic have claimed that United are now “actively pursuing” a deal to sign the teenager, with Liverpool and PSG also interested,
While it has also been explained that Real Madrid appear to be the favourites to sign the defender, it appears that Yoro has impressed the Old Trafford club’s scouts immensely.
According to Football Insider, United scouts view the French defender as a “generational talent” capable of being a “phenomenal” player at the top level.
Yoro made 44 appearances for Lille last term, and it has been confirmed that he will be allowed to leave the French club this summer.
The Ligue 1 side’s president, Olivier Létang, has explained that Yoro and Jonathan David – another United target – could depart this summer.
“We have two players who will be allowed to leave: Jonathan (David) and Leny (Yoro),” he told journalists.
