Manchester United star Marcus Rashford limped down the tunnel against Real Betis after a nasty tackle in the game.

Rashford, 26, scored United’s first of the night from the penalty spot after exceptional work from Amad Diallo to win the spot kick.

The left winger looked dangerous throughout the game but was knocked down on several occasions. In the second half, he was clearly stamped on inside the penalty box.

Yet, in a pre-season friendly, the penalty not being given wasn’t the concern of anyone at United but rather the condition of Rashford, who looked in discomfort on the floor after the challenge.

United’s no.10 would then limp off the pitch and down the tunnel before Erik ten Hag made wholesale changes to the team shortly after 60 minutes.

Coming shortly after it was confirmed that Leny Yoro and Rasmus Højlund would miss three months and six weeks, respectively, this was another concern for United fans.

However, speaking after the game, MUTV host Sam Homewood suggested that the 26-year-old did not look in any discomfort after the game as the squad did a lap of the pitch.

He said: “He’s walking around with Jadon Sancho, he doesn’t seem to be walking uncomfortably, smiling.”

Danny Webber, former United academy player and MUTV pundit, also pointed out that the substitute would’ve likely been pre-planned anyway since the entire team was also replaced.

“He was due to come off anyway, sometimes you have to be sensible. He’s walking around, he’s back on his feet, it’s positive to see,” he added.

“We saw the replay, it’s painful, someone stamps on your foot. The boots don’t give you a lot of protection. It hurts you for a minute or two.

“If you know you’re going to come off anyway, look at the bigger picture, the start of the season.”

United fans will be hoping for good news on Rashford, especially since Højlund joined the team after the game to thank the supporters on the pitch but ended up out of action for a prolonged period.
