Manchester United predicted XI to face Burnley in the Carabao Cup

Manchester United finally return to action on Wednesday evening as they face Burnley in the Carabao Cup fourth-round.
The cup fixture comes just three days after the World Cup final, which saw Lisandro Martinez and Argentina lift the trophy in a thrilling final game against France.
United were beginning to impress under Erik ten Hag before the Qatar-based tournament and the manager will be hoping that his team can continue on that trajectory despite the month-long break in play.
This upcoming cup fixture against the Championship side presents an opportunity for Ten Hag’s men to find their momentum again ahead of the Premier League return after Christmas.
However, after United saw 12 of their 15 representatives in the World Cup reach the knock-out stages of the competition, we could see a weakened team return to the Old Trafford stage this week.
Martinez will not be back in time and Raphael Varane will also be resting after the final loss for France.
The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford could appear after returning to the club following their quarter-finals exits with Portugal and England. Brazilian’s Fred, Antony and Casemiro could also be back available.
David de Gea and Martin Dubravka will both be fit to start and the selection will depend on whether Ten Hag wants the Spaniard to have competitive experience ahead of the league return the following week.
Anthony Martial is expected to start after missing out on the France World Cup squad and returning to full fitness over the break. Zidane Iqbal could also feature after impressing during friendlies in Spain.
