Man United legend orders starlet to “knock on the Erik ten Hag’s door” and demand FA Cup final start
Manchester United legend Steve Bruce has told Amad Diallo he has to tell Erik ten Hag to start him in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The City game is very much the biggest of United’s season, as the Red Devils will hope to stop their rivals from beating them in consecutive FA Cup finals.
Amad, who has struggled with both injuries and game time this season, has started to put forward a compelling case to Erik ten Hag that he should be in the starting eleven against City.
Playing in four consecutive matches, the most of his entire United career, Amad has been a consistent bright spot over United’s last few matches.
At his very best on Wednesday night against Newcastle United, Amad assisted Kobbie Mainoo for the Red Devils’ opener, before picking up his first Premier League goal later on in the game.
Discussing the Newcastle game with Amad on behalf of Stadium Astro, Bruce let the United winger know he has impressed him for some time, before explaining what Amad must do next.
Bruce urged Amad to “Knock on the manager’s door and say ‘I want to play in the [FA] Cup final. I’ve done enough to play in the Cup final.'”
Responding to Bruce’s suggestion, Amad cooly responded “No worries.” Before expanding further on his ambitions for the rest of the season when asked by another member of the Stadium Astro team.
“Every game for me is a final,” Amad stated. “When the manager chooses me to start in the starting eleven, [then] I do my best to help the team.
“Now, I am focused on Brighton… I’ll see what happens against Brighton before we think about next weekend against [Manchester] City.”
The FA Cup final will take place on Saturday, May 25th and is a 15:00PM kick off in the United Kingdom.
