Man United legend delivers damning verdict on Erik ten Hag’s side after Spurs draw
Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has delivered a damning verdict on Erik ten Hag’s side after they drew 2-2 against Tottenham Hotspur.
United scored twice in the first half through Rasmus Højlund and Marcus Rashford to go in 2-1 up at the break following Richarison’s headed goal for Spurs.
However, a goal only 50 seconds after the second half started from Rodrigo Bentancur following amateur defending from the Old Trafford hosts.

Ten Hag’s men only had 36 per cent of the possession and had just three shots in the second half – with none of them finding the target.
Schmeichel, 60, was extremely disappointed by the performance from The Reds and suggested that they should be pleased with the result due to their dire display on the pitch.
“Manchester United should be happier with the point because it’s one they didn’t deserve,” the former goalkeeper told Premier League Productions.
“It was an awful second half, it felt like they didn’t really come out of the dressing room.
“Spurs deserved a little bit more, they had the better chances and played the better game, and that’ll be a worry for Erik ten Hag.”
Despite results being often poor this season at United, the main criticism has come from the lack of performances to build on. Wins have often been close and, at times, undeserved.
Ten Hag has leaned on the excuse of injuries after unfortunate luck with key players being out.
However, Lisandro Martínez came off the bench on Sunday, and Casemiro was on the bench. These players are returning, and with the club out of two cup competitions, they have time in between games now, too.
They do not only have to improve their results to climb up the Premier League table, but fans are expecting performances to actually improve; otherwise, big question marks remain.
