One forgotten Manchester United starlet has signed a new contract at Old Trafford and has been included in Erik ten Hag’s pre-season tour squad.

The Reds have seen several exciting youngsters excel in their opening pre-season fixtures this summer, with midfielder Toby Collyer starring in both games.

According to the Manchester Evening News, 19-year-old talent Ethan Ennis has signed a new contract at Old Trafford.

Ennis signed professional terms when he joined the club at 17 years of age, and that deal expired in June 2025. He will now stay beyond that summer but the report did not specify how long his new contract lasts.

After making appearances in both of United’s pre-season fixtures so far this summer, the report added that Ennis is expected to be included in the touring squad to the United States.

In August 2022, Ennis faced a major setback when it was confirmed that he had ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee.

The young talent faced a long road to recovery, finally making his first appearance for the Under-21s against Fulham at the end of October after a 14-month lay-off.

Ennis was rated extremely highly when United signed him from their rivals. Since that long-term injury, his playing time was carefully managed last season to help him regain full fitness.

The teenager made seven appearances for the Under-21s last term and will be hoping to find consistency in the coming season to make Erik ten Hag consider him in the first-team squad.
