Man United receive concerning £18m transfer update, swap deal might be the only solution
Manchester United have received a concerning £18 million transfer update, and a swap deal might now be the only solution.
The Reds are hoping to make more transfers in the coming weeks but it has been made clear that player exits are needed before any further signings.
Noussair Mazraoui of Bayern Munich has agreed personal terms with United, and they are hoping to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham to allow the deal to happen.
The two Premier League clubs have agreed an £18 million deal for the fullback, but there have been issues surrounding personal terms in recent weeks.
According to the Telegraph, West Ham has not been able to complete a deal for Wan-Bissaka and are now considering a move for Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier.
It had been suggested in reports that Wan-Bissaka wasn’t entirely convinced of a move to the London Stadium.
The defensive fullback has less than one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford and he wanted an additional fee from the club, described as almost a loyalty bonus.
Wan-Bissaka signed for the club in the summer of 2019 for £50 million. He impressed during his time at Crystal Palace and convinced Ole Gunnar Solskjær to splash the cash.
The 26-year-old has made 190 appearances since his debut against Chelsea in August 2019.
Swap deal solution
It seems that United may not be able to convince Wan-Bissaka of a West Ham move but it has been well reported that the right-back is attracted to Inter Milan.
A potential swap deal between the 26-year-old and Denzel Dumfries has been spoken about. He would be a different option to Mazraoui and could not cover as well on the left side of defence.
Dumfries does not want to sign a new deal at Inter, and the player reportedly holds an appeal for a potential United move.
This might be the only solution if Wan-Bissaka does not want to go to the Hammers. INEOS will not want to lose the player on a free contract next summer.
