Luke Shaw shows exactly why he is a Manchester United fan favourite on holiday

Luke Shaw has been showing exactly why he has become a fan favourite at Manchester United while on holiday in Dubai ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Luke Shaw established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, and if not the world, under Erik ten Hag last season.

His performances were at a constant high standard for Manchester United, and he played a key part in facilitating the fantastic season had by Marcus Rashford, who scored 30 goals ahead of him from the left wing.

As Shaw was part of the England squad who competed in the most recent international break, he was granted an extended holiday that will see him miss out on United’s first pre-season fixture of the summer, against Leeds United.

That holiday has seen him recover and chill out in sunny Dubai, where, although he has been resting, he has still taken the time to sign shirts and take pictures with fans.

One particular heartwarming video has grabbed people’s attention – while swimming, Shaw was more than happy to sign the shirt of a young fan, showing just how in touch he is with the fans of the club.

“Legend on and off the pitch,” one fan wrote, while another claimed this showed why Shaw is “captain material”.

Shaw is expected to make a return to pre-season training next week before the club fly off to play Borrusia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Wrexham in the United States of America.

He will return with friend and fellow England international Mason Mount in the dressing room as Mount became the first player to walk through the Old Trafford doors this summer – with André Onana expected next.
