“Real worry…” Journalist reveals inside latest behind Luke Shaw’s England injury
Luke Shaw has missed England training once again ahead of the side’s final 2024 European Championship groups fixture against Slovenia.
Luke Shaw has not played a single game of professional football since February 18, when he sustained an injury while playing for Manchester United against Luton Town.
Although he did not feature again in the domestic season, Gareth Southgate chose to call Shaw up to the England 2024 European Championship squad that flew to Germany two weeks ago.

Southgate was initially optimistic that Shaw may have been able to play for England at some point in the tournament, and the full-back was named on the bench against Serbia last weekend, but his fitness has seemingly taken a turn for the worse since then.
In a new twist, talkSPORT‘s England correspondent Faye Carruthers has now revealed something she saw behind the scenes following the Denmark fixture regarding Shaw.
“It’s a real worry… When I saw him in the tunnel after the Denmark game, he was still limping, he didn’t look comfortable at all,” Carruthers said.
“He must have had a setback that they’re not telling us about. You’re not still limping at this stage if you’re playing in a few weeks.”
The last update that Southgate handed out on Shaw was ahead of the Denmark tie when he confirmed that the United full-back would not be involved.
“Luke won’t be involved tomorrow, no,” said Southgate last Wednesday evening. “He’s actually on track to where we thought he’d be originally.
“We were hoping, a couple of days ago, we might accelerate that a little bit, but he needs a bit more volume work.
“He didn’t train with the rest of the group today (Wednesday) because there are days when he needs to do more than the rest of the group, and there are days when he needs to recover when the others are pushing.
“He’s still in and out with the others but operating on his own programme as well.”
