Former Manchester United star Louis Saha has taken a damning swipe at Marcus Rashford, who is currently flourishing on loan at Barcelona.
During the summer, Manchester United parted ways with numerous of their previous attacking options, with Marcus Rashford finding himself a loan move to Barcelona.
After a dismal season where Ruben Amorim’s side only scored 44 goals in the Premier League, something needed to change at the club, hence their summer clearout.
The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Rasmus Højlund all left the club permanently, whilst Jadon Sancho left on a loan deal, similarly to Rashford, although Rashford’s loan includes a buy option.
Since moving to Spain, the English winger has rediscovered some of his old form, which has caught plenty of media attention. Former Red, Louis Saha, has made an “angry” remark about the 27-year-old.
Saha takes swipe at Rashford
In an interview with BetVictor, via Daily Star, Saha said, “I’ve always been a fan of Marcus Rashford; his quality is amazing. I was even jealous of his talent, and he’s a nice guy.
“We all face moments where we have to perform on the field, and that wasn’t his response. There were times I saw a player who was out of form, who didn’t want to be there, and that’s not normal.
“It’s not normal to play like that. You might want to request a transfer, but when you’re on the field, you work hard. He wasn’t working hard; something was clearly wrong, and he was unhappy.
“You shouldn’t let anything take away your joy on the pitch, because you have a responsibility to your fans. It’s not about the manager or the club owners; it’s about the thousands of people paying for tickets.
“Now, I’m very happy for him as a football player, not just for me, but for fans all over the world in Barcelona who can now enjoy a terrific player. But, of course, as a Manchester United fan, I’m angry.”
Is Rashford’s form a coincidence?
When Rashford found himself a move to Spain, it felt inevitable that he would rediscover his old form at some point, and it certainly didn’t take him very long.
With 11 goal contributions in 13 games for Barcelona, the English winger is clearly enjoying his football, and maybe all he needed was to get a fresh start away from the English media.

When speaking to ESPN before El Clásico, Rashford said, “It was so many years in one place. People forget this, but 24 years, 23 years of my life was with Manchester United. So sometimes you just need a change.
“I think maybe this is the case with me, and yeah, I’m enjoying everything.”
Understandably, a United legend such as Saha would be somewhat annoyed at the sight of an out-of-form United player flourishing elsewhere. However, given the circumstances, it feels as if United fans should just be happy for their on-loan star.
