“Little dope…” Bruno Fernandes called to “smash” Man Utd outcast as soon as pre-season starts

Bruno Fernandes has been called to “smash” one Manchester United outcast when the squad returns for pre-season under Rúben Amorim.

While Manchester United handle their summer transfer dealings, Rúben Amorim is focused on getting his squad ready for the start of the Premier League season.

Pre-season training begins in mid-July, with five matches on the schedule. The first sees United travel to Sweden to face old rivals Leeds United at the Strawberry Arena.

They’ll then fly to the United States for games against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton, before returning to Old Trafford to host Fiorentina—now featuring former United keeper David de Gea—in their final pre-season fixture.

The Premier League have confirmed that United will kick off the 2025/26 campaign with a mouthwatering clash against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday, 17 August, at 16:30 BST.

Fernandes called to reprimand Garnacho next month

With the Leeds game kicking off in four weeks, the players are expected to return to training in a few weeks’ time, although it’s expected that not all those who played last summer will rejoin, with transfers expected.

One player who will be leaving United this summer is Alejandro Garnacho, who has fallen out with Amorim. Furthermore, the winger has fueled anger within the club’s fan base after posting a photo on social media wearing Marcus Rashford’s Aston Villa kit.

Although Garnacho is leaving Old Trafford, there is little indication as to when this will be, and the player may return to pre-season training with Amorim ahead of the trip to the USA.

If he does, former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has explained that he feels United captain Bruno Fernandes should “smash” him on the opening day of training.

“He doesn’t want to [win Amorim’s approval back]. They think they’ve got a move lined up and obviously he’s playing it that way, but again it’s a new generation,” Deeney said on talkSPORT.

When asked further why Garnacho would behave in such a way, Deeney responded: “Because they’re bored and they’ve got no respect. It’s something that he’s spoken about now. It’s not earned.

“So I think if it was me at Man United, if I was Fernandes, I’d wait till he come back, and first day, I’d smash him. I would. I’ll tell you what, I’m not even trying to make headlines. I’d smash him. I’d just be like ‘This is Man United’. Like, who do you think you are? A little dope.”

Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League this summer

With Garnacho being a player who has over 150 professional appearances for his club and country before the age of 21, he has plenty of suitors this summer.

Napoli are well known to be interested in the winger, having tried to sign him in January, although their interest has cooled amid the attention surrounding Garnacho from many clubs.

Atletico Madrid, Garnacho’s former team, are also said to be monitoring the player’s situation, but reports suggest that the winger wants to stay playing in the Premier League this summer.

Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Aston Villa have been listed as clubs who like the idea of signing Garnacho, with the latter tipped as a club who are “one to watch” for the player in the coming weeks.
