An update on Leny Yoro has been provided after he missed Manchester United’s draw against Ipswich Town on the weekend.

Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge of Manchester United ended in a 1-1 draw against Premier League newboys Ipswich Town.

After Marcus Rashford opened the scoring within two minutes of kick-off, the Reds failed to impress and conceded just before the break.

Ipswich looked the side more likely to get the winner in the second half, with Amorim explaining that his team are still adjusting to his new way of play after a handful of training sessions.

Jonny Evans, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui started as the three centre-backs in the system against The Tractor Boys.

Evans showed his limitations in the role, while Mazraoui looks more promising in wider positions where he’s able to link up more.

Leny Yoro would have been a great option and many consider the teenager in Amorim’s ideal starting team at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman has been unavailable for selection since an injury in pre-season but many assumed that he’d be fit to start against Ipswich.

After training for a number of weeks, Yoro was also left out of an U21s game which was originally set to provide him with extra fitness levels.

He missed that game, and many assumed that it was because he was fit enough to start for the first-team against Ipswich.

However, he was not included in the matchday squad and this stirred rumours about a potential setback in the 19-year-old’s recovery.

AcademyScoop has since revealed that there has been no setback in Yoro’s recovery but instead he is simply continuing his ‘planned reintegration’ after a long-term injury.

We will likely see the young defender in the first-team soon but the club are clearly taking his recovery carefully in these crucial moments.
