Leny Yoro lists his three main Manchester United objectives, one shows exactly why he joined the club

Leny Yoro has listed his three main priorities going forward at Manchester United after joining the club in the latest summer transfer window.

Manchester United managed to secure the signing of Leny Yoro from Lille last summer despite heavy interest from Real Madrid in the defender.

It was a move that excited many United fans as the teenager has been considered as one of the best defensive talents of his generation.

Yoro’s start at Old Trafford came with difficulties after a pre-season injury ruled him out of the first four months of the campaign.

However, since Ruben Amorim took charge, the Frenchman has been going from strength to strength. He has produced some solid performances of late on the left side of United’s defence.

Yoro lists his three main United objectives

Yoro has shown great promise so far at Old Trafford in difficult circumstances and there’s so much room for him to grow into a top player.

The defender only turned 19 in November and will be hoping to be an important part of an improved Amorim side moving forward into next season.

In an interview with club media released this week, Yoro was asked about his main objectives heading forward with the club, which he named three main ones.

“What would I like to achieve at Manchester United? Of course to win as many trophies as possible, to be in the heart of the fans and to play every game like it’s a final,” he said.

He could have the chance to win his first piece of silverware at the club, with the Reds currently in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Yoro objective shows why he joined United

Many supporters were somewhat surprised when Yoro decided to join United and the club’s hierarchy were praised for getting a deal over the line.

Raphaël Varane and Rio Ferdinand were among the ex-players to have spoken to the teenager before he made his decision and one of the main reasons behind his arrival came due to the United fanbase.

Previously asked by Ferdinand why he picked United, Yoro said: “For me, man, it’s got the most history, it’s the biggest club in the world. And for me to play for United, even when I was young, it was the history, the fans, everything is big here.”

That is shown clearly in his objective to “be in the heart of the fans” at Old Trafford – he wants to be loved by the United supporters and if he continues on the right path, there’s no doubt that will be the case.
