Leny Yoro’s injury timeframe revealed after Man Utd defender spotted with crutches
Leny Yoro’s injury timeframe has been revealed after the Manchester United defender was spotted with crutches on Wednesday.
United’s third pre-season match against Arsenal over the weekend began at a fast pace, with both teams creating early opportunities.
Rasmus Højlund scored the opening goal within 20 minutes, showcasing a powerful run and finish, as Erik ten Hag’s team displayed sharpness and proactivity in possession. Mason Mount was particularly impressive.
However, the mood quickly shifted as both Højlund and Leny Yoro had to leave the field due to injuries in the first half. The game concluded with a 2-1 victory for the North London club.
Reports since then have not been able to provide information on the scans, but have warned that the indications are that Yoro’s is the more serious issue.
On Wednesday morning, a video emerged of Yoro with the squad boarding the team coach. He was wearing a protective boot and using crutches.
That has raised further concerns among supporters, who were extremely excited about seeing the 18-year-old in action. It now looks certain that he will miss the opening of the Premier League campaign.
According to Insider United, the young defender will be out of action for a period between three to six weeks.
It was explained that the club picked up a pre-existing foot injury during Yoro’s medical, and while it wasn’t anything serious, it could very well be the same issue.
The Frenchman produced a strong performance in his first game for the club against Rangers in Scotland.
“For the first time, after just one training [session], it’s a very mature performance,” Ten Hag said.
“That’s what we saw when we scouted him. It’s great to have him. He’s a very young, talented centre‑back and there’s a lot to come.
“He’s here, we think he can play but there’s so many games that he’ll be in a group of four or five defenders.”
