Leny Yoro has issued a hint over his fitness as Manchester United travel to face West Ham in the Premier League during a Tuesday evening tie.
Michael Carrick will be hoping to extend his perfect start by making it five wins from five when Manchester United travel to East London to play 18th-placed West Ham on Tuesday night.
Since taking over from Rúben Amorim, the former United midfielder has guided his side to victories against Manchester City, Arsenal, Fulham and Tottenham, opening up a five-point cushion in the battle for the Champions League places.
West Ham, though, should not be underestimated. They remain in the relegation zone but are only three points from climbing out of trouble, and the London Stadium has brought United plenty of frustration in recent seasons.
The Hammers earned a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in December, and another strong result on Tuesday could be vital for either team as the Premier League season moves towards its closing stages.
Yoro drops availability hint vs West Ham
On Monday afternoon, Carrick’s United squad travelled down to East London from Manchester, with the side containing the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes, and Matheus Cunha.
However, many quickly noted when the spotted players list was released that French defender Leny Yoro was not on the squad, raising some concern.
While Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martínez have started every game under Carrick, the former’s fitness unreliablity had led some to theorise that he could be rested, and Yoro may be handed a start.
However, ahead of the West Ham tie on Tuesday evening, Yoro posted a matchday graphic on his Instagram story, suggesting he may be involved after all and could have just travelled separately to the rest of the squad.
What did Carrick say about injury news?
Unfortunately for Carrick, he had no positive injury updates to give fans ahead of the West Ham trip.
The United boss confirmed that while Mason Mount was close to a return, he would not be in the squad to face West Ham, while Matthijs de Ligt is still a few weeks away.

“Mason will be probably not for Tuesday, probably after, but definitely gone into the Everton game, he’ll be back,” Carrick explained during his press conference to preview the tie.
“Matta, we’ll see how he develops over the, you know… the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we’ll see how he develops, but he’s positive, he’s moving in the right direction, but Mason’s a little bit closer than him.”
Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is also out of action with a hamstring injury and may not return until April.
