Leny Yoro breaks silence after Man United injury as two Manuel Ugarte alternatives revealed
Leny Yoro has broken his silence after undergoing surgery for a metatarsal injury sustained on Manchester United’s pre-season tour.
The Reds announced Yoro as their second summer signing last month, and the addition was a huge coup. Real Madrid were also very interested in bringing the 18-year-old to the Bernabéu.
His unofficial debut for the club came against Rangers towards the beginning of pre-season, and despite only playing 45 minutes, the Frenchman quickly displayed why he was so highly rated.
However, next up came a game against Arsenal in the United States and Yoro, unfortunately, was forced off the pitch with an injury.
United would then confirm the nightmare news that Yoro would be unavailable for around three months after suffering a fractured metatarsal. He has since had successful surgery and has begun rehabilitation.
Yoro took to Instagram after confirmation of the surgery. He re-posted the club’s announcement on his story and wrote, “Thanks God” with a praying emoji.
He also uploaded another post after his surgery, writing: “This is not the start I wanted, but that’s football… The operation went well. Thank you for your many messages of support.
“Now, time for patience and rehabilitation work. See you soon, stronger.”
While the Reds are looking to bring in additional defenders, there has also been an interesting update in regard to midfield targets.
Manuel Ugarte is now not being pursued due to the price tag that Paris Saint-Germain are demanding. Instead, United are looking elsewhere, and reports have suggested that there are two players the club admires.
According to Ben Jacobs, Joao Gomes of Wolves and Fluminense star André are two names that United still appreciate.
It was explained that André would be available for under £30 million this summer, but Gomes would be a much tougher target to pry away from Wolves due to their £60 million valuation.
